My cartoon character is a mouse. I really like making simple animal icons on illustrator so I came up with this one. I mainly used the ellipse tool to make the body, ears, eyes, and whiskers. The tail is made out of the line tool and rounded using the stroke panel. The inner part of the ear was a half a circle but I deleted one of the anchor points and filled it with pink, I also adjusted it with the pen tool to get the final shape. I also copied the whole thing, merged it all and thickened the outline to be the background of the mouse.
I really wanted to go simple with this design since I wanted to create something that I could give my friend as a present. He really likes rats and mice so I thought it would be cool to make it a sticker or print it on a card someday for him. All-in-all I love how I did this design and how it came out.
