OBJECTIVE
What makes you YOU? There are numerous things that can represent a person. Even the opposite could speak volumes to what people think of you. We were tasked with making ourselves into a magnet with 3-5 other magnets that help represent the theme of our choosing. Does it need to be in a situation? No, not necessarily but it would help. This has infinite possibilities and you can be as creative as you want. Even I did everything by hand in the end.
SKETCHES
These thumbnails could be tighter but all in all I like how the ideas came to be. I wanted to change the art style for each idea. The first idea was "Cool Jasmin" where I would be in street style clothing and everything would be in a graffiti or graphic street style of art. The Second idea I did instead of all of the cultures and chose one of my favorites, Hawaii. Specifically the food that we always eat when we go. The style would be closer to a cartoon look but I would watercolor all of it. The third was having me sitting at an easel and painting different paintings. I would have interchangeable canvases with different pieces that I have done.

I chose to move forward with my painting idea and the Hawaiian food idea. I made "Jasmin's Painting Journey" and "Jasmin's Hawaiian Munchies". I did munchies since it is hard to convey certain types of food in a cartoon style without it being weird. The painting style would be a more realism or I would take a photo. There were a lot of flaws and complications with the painting one so I decided to move forward with the Munchies.
I had a few different versions of my hand final since I didn't know what type of headline I liked the most. I had everything spaced the way that I would like it and I really like the way that I changed the drawing of me. I like the more bold text and I kept the rounded look of it as well. It stays well with the arms. Some elements I would like to change are, the placement of the product number and I need to add a warning. I forgot to add that in the beginning.

Between this progression and the first one I realized I couldn't get the same effect that I wanted to on the computer so I switched back to doing everything by hand. The things that I needed to accomplish with the computer was the barcode and some of the smaller text. There were some items that I know that I needed to shift or make larger. So I traced items to shift or enlarge for the next progression.
FINISHED PRODUCT
My Final was a combination of my digital work and my hand painted pages that I water colored. I was really happy with how it turned out. I also got the chance to print the background on linen paper. It gives a wonderful texture that makes the watercolor look amazing. I did the hand drawn pieces for the cut out magnet portion and I really liked them this way.
