Our final project in ART 1230 is a 4-page newsletter that will be designed using just two Pantone spot colors. This is the signature assignment of our semester. We will use all the information learned throughout the course, from foundational typography theory to advanced layout design principles, to showcase your ability to create a visually appealing type-driven design.
This project was a long process. Starting with concept all the way to tight thumbnails to the final. There were requirements of color compositions and original art pieces. When I completed my initial designs I really wanted to push this mushroom theme. The colors are reminiscent of the classic red mushroom. The brown was dark enough to help with all of the boy text and the red is a bright color that works well to bring a pop. The overprints work really well too. When both colors are with the overprint they become a wonderful deep red that I love.
